My Spring Must Have: The Denim Jacket

Happy (late) Friday (evening) my friends! Yes, I realized I started penning this post earlier today and forgot about it existing in "draft land." Anyways...

I'm sharing my favorite spring must have - the denim jacket. This has become my go-to piece, my must have, my "crud, I need to leave in ten minutes and I've only got black pants and a bra on - what am I going to wear?" piece in my wardrobe. Whether it's layering a basic tee underneath on my days off or throwing on a button down or a blouse for work, the denim jacket has become my piece for putting it all together. I've even used my denim jacket as outwear and layered a thin hoodie under it for days off of running to the grocery store.

And in case your looking for a cute denim jacket, mine is ON SALE in stores and online at Chico's...

It's also available in petite online. Mine is the "regular" version - yes, I'm 5'1" but fairly busty and tend to prefer some jackets in a regular vs. a petite. Happy shopping!

Makeup Monday: Burt's Bees Replenishing Lip Balm

Lately I've become very streamlined with certain aspects of my beauty routine - one of those products is what I wear on my lips. I love a bright lip just as much as the next girl but sometimes you need an easy lip balm to "throw on and go." My favorite is the Burt's Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil. The original Burt's Bees lip balm is too waxy for my tastes and this lip balm is super moisturizing and adds just a hint of color. I should buy this in the two-pack version because this the one lip balm I keep purchasing on repeat! Love it!

You can purchase this at your local drugstore or online at Ulta or Target. You're welcome because your lips will thank you!

Just Buy The Shoes: Clarks Grayson Erica Ballet Flat

I love shoes. But I hate shopping for shoes to wear between the seasons. Case in point, it's supposed to be spring but the weather is not quite there yet. Wearing boots? So over it. Yet I'm not quite ready to bring out the sandals. And I while I had one pair of flats in my possession, I still feel like I am "breaking them in." They were on sale for dirt cheap at Easy Spirit when that store location was closing at The Westchester.

Clarks has saved my shoe dilemma with their Grayson Erica ballet flat. The faded rose leather color is reminiscent of my ballet slippers when I took dance classes as a little one with the parks and rec program. This quite nude but not quite pink shade seems to be a good color for my skin that has not seen the sun in a while!

New shoes and fro-yo. The simple things in life.

So far these are the most comfortable flats I've worn in a while... The elastic around the toe still needs to be stretched a little bit (wide foot problems) but love that they don't dig into my ankles! The leather is buttery soft and I'm so smitten I'm tempted to get the gold leather pair which is a pale soft gold with a hint of silver when the light hits it. Love it! If you're looking for a shoe to transition into warmer temps, these Clarks flats might be your new shoe BFF.
