So I'm in a slight panic about what to wear for New Year's Eve. I think I might wear cropped cuffed dark denim jeans with these shoes but I'm still at a loss for a cute top idea. I have a slinky blue tank I bought from Express that I might wear but I need a cute cardigan for it. If all else fails, I have my Maggy London v-neck little black dress that I can wear.

Choices, choices, choices. I might have to take a trip to H&M on my lunch break to see if I can come up with anything there!

Essential deal.

So I haven't bought anything "designer" in a long time but I happened to find a Kors Michael Kors black hooded jacket on clearance for under $20! The knit is not too heavy as opposed to a sweatshirt material. Besides, anything resembling a black hoodie is an essential in my book!

I'm looking forward to having this Friday off work... ChicArmoire, let me know if you'd possibly want to go get coffee?

Merry Christmas to me!

Merry christmas and happy holidays to all of my readers! I know it's been quite a few weeks since I've posted but with finishing up the end of the semester and surviving retail life during the holiday season, I haven't had much time. So here I am fulfilling family obligations of general chitter-chatter and blogging simulataneously on my iBook.

This past week I decided to treat myself to a couple new goodies as Christmas gifts to myself.

Urban Outfitters Charm Necklace

Dad got me a Target giftcard for Christmas and I've got some cash that's already burning a hole in my pocket from various relatives! I've gotten some beauty goodies as well including a pomegranate body balm, Suave Whipped Cocoa Body Wash, as well as Victoria's Secret Garden Collection Vanilla Lace Spray Eau de Toilette and Ultra-Moisturizing Hand And Body Cream. I also got a ton of socks because Christmas in my house is all about socks! Mom did get me this totally cute shopping bag charm with "<3 To Shop" on it for my charm bracelet. Overall, I'm delighted with my gifts and recent purchases!

I'm looking forward to going back to work tomorrow to get out of the house. The usual family drama issues have ensued.

A Not-So-Good Mascara Review

In the back of my mind, I always feel bad about giving bad beauty product reviews but then I remind myself that as a beauty and fashion blogger that it's part of the job description at times!

I loved the products I received in my DuWop giveaway from Beauty Addict Mag except their Lash Lacquer. The concept is a double-ended mascara with buildable coverage and a top coat to seal it. I've tried the past few days to use it and it smudges every time I use it and it doesn't make my lashes thick enough. I even attempted to use the lacquer portion on top of my Maybelline Full 'n Soft but that wasn't a fab idea either.

So my freebie is going in the trashcan... I'm too busy to constantly check to see if my mascara has smudged and that I've got 'coon eyes going on!

I ended up keeping the Old Navy skinny jeans because I can get a lot of mileage out of them with heels or cuffed with flats and after scouring the mall, I'm having a harder time finding what I want! I have tried on these Fire skinny jeans and I love them but then I'd have to deal with getting them hemmed. I know it's not that big of a deal to get them hemmed but I'm all about instant gratification when it comes down to shopping sometimes.

I hope all of you have a fabulous weekend! I'm headed to the Grand Illumination this evening and then the First Fridays art walk! I picked up this cute striped sweater by Love By Design at Dots the other day! The black and white striped sweater paired with leggings in the center of the page looks like the one I picked!

Fashion, Television, & The Holidays

My fashionista friend Michelle from the Chic Armoire will be featured on WTVR 6's "Virginia This Morning" show next Wednesday 12-6! You should definitely check it out because there will also be a special guest model (*ahem* myself)! So watch the show to check out some hot fashion ideas for the holidays!

Jeans & Shoes - oh my!

I'll be honest, Old Navy jeans usually fit me funny. I will admit they're one of the few places that offer short lengths though in denim. While perusing through the Old Navy at Willow Lawn after a disappointing trip to Payless (it's BOGO time and I've been eyeing these patent ballet flats but they didn't have my size) - I stumbled upon these jeans on the clearance rack. The leg seems to fit narrower than a straight leg but not as tight as a stovepipe style. The price was insanely good since they were marked down a couple dollars lower than online and they ended up being $18 and some change with sales tax. I really like them but I'm not sure if I totally LOVE them so I'll need to try them on a few more times here at home. They do fit really small and I ended up with a size bigger than I normally buy in most things! If anyone owns Old Navy jeans and likes and/or dislikes them - please let me know your opinions! The true test will be if I can stuff them in my boots and have them look good - so I'll have to try that out this week. I really should go shopping for skinny jeans when I'm wearing boots but instead I was rocking my leopard peep-toes a la Target!

Please don't be alarmed if my blog layout looks sort of wonky at points - I'm playing around with themes, colors, and the like. I'm quite nitpicky about design in general.

The fashionista is getting tired since she's all shopped out! One month 'til Christmas!

EDIT: I tried the jeans on this morning with my boots and the leg is too wide to tuck them in but too narrow for me to "double cuff" them and tuck the top part of my boots under the cuff! I'll have to possibly check out Macy's on my lunch break and see if they have any skinny leg jeans. I know for sure the Levi's store does but I'm on a bargain hunt right now! But yeah, it seems that there's about 95% chance the Old Navy ones will be returned! *sigh*

Black Friday/D.A.T.

*breathes sigh of relief* I survived working the day after Thanksgiving a.k.a. Black Friday. For those of who work in retail, you understand what I mean - it's usually hectic, crazy, and exhausting.

So now I'm chillin' on the couch and enjoying a CSI: Miami marathon on A&E.

This is the beginning of the holidays - 'tis the season!

I myself though was not overall impressed with yesterday's advertisements in the paper for the day after Thanksgiving. CVS does have all Maybelline products as buy one, get one free so I'm going to stock up on my "holy grail" Maybelline Full 'n Soft mascara.

I hope everyone had a wonderful "Turkey Day"!

1. New haircut! It's similar to Britney Spears new 'do but with side swept bangs. I personally think mine looks 100% better and my hair stylist as well as everyone at the salon was in agreement. Growing it out for over two months was well worth it (my last cut was on September 7th) and now I have the perfect angled bob that my stylist and I have been aiming for.

2. New haircolor! I'm on a slow progression to possibly going darker for the fall so I'm slowly adding color using John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette Luminous Color Glaze in Amber to Maple. It's now a nice honey to caramel color and if I some how end up hating it - it's nothing a bit of dish soap and some deep conditioner won't fix! I still have a box of my trusty Clairol Natural Insticts 02 Sahara waiting under my sink in case I want to go back to fully blonde.

3. I survived a pedicure! My feet are unbearably ticklish but it was nice to be pampered!

Saturday's plans include a mother-daughter day and going to see Happy Feet! It'll be nice to spend some time with Mom and have a Saturday off work!

Facing the facts about good skin.

It's taken me quite a few years to figure out a skincare routine that actually works and I can now successfully say that I rarely break out other than due to stress or hormonal influxes (the joys of being a woman). Thus, I've decided to share my regularly used products with you that have transformed my oily/combination skin into something somewhat "normal."

Lavender Fields Farm Oatmeal, Milk, & Honey Soap (I swear by this stuff and it's helped clear up my skin immensely over the years while being gentle yet exfoliating.)

Lavender Fields Farm Nourishing Facial Scrub & Mask

St. Ives Cucumber Eye & Face Stress Gel

CVS Moisturizing Lotion

MAC Fast Response Eye Cream

MAC Fix+

Clinique Super City Block Oil-Free Daily Face Protector SPF 25.

I do mix a pea size dab of the St. Ives gel and the CVS lotion together for my day moisturizer and I use the CVS lotion on it's own at night. The scrub I use once or twice a week but everything else I use on an every day basis. I also like the Shea Butter Lip Balm Tube by Lavender Fields Farm which works fabulously as a lip balm but also works on cuticles in a pinch and a litte tiny dab can tame unruly eyebrows when necessary. I also liking using a bit of it rubbed onto my nose when it's sore and red from the cold season (like I'm experiencing now).

Cheers to good skin!

Layers, layers, layers.

Don't you love it when you wear an outfit that you were a little unsure about when you were about to leave the house and then you arrive at your destination and everyone loves it? It's a nice confidence boost especially when said outfit is super trendy and we all know that trends don't always look fabulous on everyone. So onto a description of today's outfit which proved multiple layers can look fabulous!

Xhilaration plum microfiber camisole
BP. black cotton/spandex camisole
Absolutely grey cotton cable knit shawl collar v-neck tunic sweater
Target black braided suede hip slung belt
BP. black cotton/spandex leggings
Smoky Mountain Boots black cowgirl boots

I originally wanted to wear my Anne Taylor Loft suede black kitten heel boots but I felt with the tons of rain we received today in Richmond, it was not a wise idea to wear suede shoes! I think this outfit would also look great with skinny jeans as opposed to leggings!

City Shoes

For those of you on MySpace, check out RVA favorite City Shoes on there!

Mmmm, shoes. Need I say more?

I must go try on their Restricted "Rainy Day" wedge boot.

Let's face it, I love perfume/fragrance. I love samples. Thus, I love samples of perfume/fragrance. I'm a scent junkie at times and I'm always on the hunt for the one that'll make me want to keep sniffing myself all day. Ralph Lauren's Blue and Britney Spears' Curious tend to have that effect on me (though they're quite similar scents in my opinion).

I picked up a sample of Viktor & Rolf's "Flower Bomb" and ohmygoodness it smells yummy. I just woke up and I can still smell it on me 12 hours later and after surviving smokey bar syndrome.

I myself tend to choose both floral or vanilla-y scents. It's what I'm drawn to and on that note, we shall list the RVAfashionista's favorite fragrances!

Body Fantasisies Fresh White Musk Fantasy
Britney Spears' Curious
Clinique's Happy Heart
Hanae Mori Paris Butterfly
M.A.C. MV2
M.A.C. Pink Aura
Ralph Lauren Blue
Secret Vanilla Sparkle Body Spray
Viktor & Rolf's Flower Bomb

I've also liked some of Escada's fragrances as well. *sigh* So much to smell, so little time!

The RVAfashionista might be a bit M.I.A. this weekend especially due to family coming into town to celebrate my sister's birthday- cheers!

Nails, lips, eyes.

So I've already chipped my DIY manicure that I did last night with my Wet 'n Wild "Vintage Red" color. Fabulous. However, I think it's expected due to the fact I use my hands on a consistent basis at my job and I'm sure that using Purell regularly doesn't help either! One of my friends said the chipped polish was definitely rock star-ish so why not indulge my inner punk rock diva a bit.

I'm definitely in love with my Sally Hansen "Sheer Blush" Lip Inflation gloss. Dare I say it might work better than some of the more pricey brands I've tried... I usually buy cheap lipgloss because I tend to lose it (I lost one of my limited edition MAC Lipglasses not even a week after I bought it, obviously I was a bit ticked off). I do splurge on the M.A.C. VivaGlam Lipglasses because all the proceeds go to the M.A.C. AIDS Fund and I'm especially in love with their VivaGlam VI shade. To tell the truth, I never would have thought that red lipliner would be so versatile. I picked up a Beautique "Real Red" Lip Pencil to originally pair with my MAC "Lady Bug" Lipstick. I've discovered this lipliner looks great if I put on some lip balm, line and smudge it in, and then top it with some gloss (looks great with clear but also with both VivaGlam Lipglasses I own). For Halloween I lined and filled my lips with the pencil, used my Wet 'n Wild "Passion Fruit Pink" MegaSlicks Lip Color Retractable Pencil, and then topped it with a bit of the Sally Hansen "Sheer Blush" Lip Inflation gloss - voila! CIRCA 1980's HOT PINK LIPS.

I'm kind of thankful Halloween is over. I've dressed up for three nights and did elaborate makeup for the official Halloween night. I tried getting a few different eye shots with my camera but here's one of the better ones! I used my M.A.C. LiquidLast Liners to make the dots and I used lots of glitter and my MAC (discontinued) Glitterliners as well. I'm surprised how well things held up after lots of dancing at the club but I must thank Urban Decay's Primer Potion and my M.A.C.!

Well, the RVAfashionista is now off to enjoy a midnight snack of some homemade pizza and then to get her beauty rest! I'll be spending most of the weekend with the family to celebrate my little sister's birthday so don't expect any posts from me until next week unless boredom ensues!

On sale with a coupon!!!

I know I've broken major fashion rules today by wearing yoga pants, a t-shirt, and flip-flops to my marketing test this morning and then Wal-Mart and CVS runs but hey, it's Halloween so why not dress up all bummy like everyone else does in my 'hood.

Wal-Mart had a ton of pedicure stuff by Sally Hansen including a new Just Feet collection. I picked up their Ingrown Nail File & Cuticle Pusher as well as a Foot Rasp to do some exfoliating of icky calluses. I also grabbed a bottle of Onyx Professionals 100% Acetone which is fabulous for removing both dark and glitter polishes. I decided to try the Sally Hansen Hard As Nails - Hard As Wraps so we'll see how that goes when I try it out this afternoon and acrylic generally makes nail color last longer especially when I've had the fake ones.

My original plan at CVS was to just pick up a bottle of Sunsilk's Anti-Flat Weightless Volumizing Creme but I ended up looking around the beauty aisles and getting "caught up in the moment" but still being very wise with my purchases since I bought all sale items and I had coupons (my mother taught me well) and CVS extra bucks, I ended up with all these goodies for about $15! Bargain shopper extraordianaire but I bought things I could really need!

MegaSlicks Lip Color Retractable Pencil - # 671 Passion Fruit Pink. I'm a sucker for bright pink lips with nude shadow on eyes but I also needed a bright pink lip to wear for my 80's chick/Cyndi Lauper Halloween costume this evening (yes, same concept as Saturday's costume but I'm going to wear a different shirt over the leopard dress and I'll actually have time today to do my eyeshadow all crazy). My beloved Clinique Colour Surge Lipstick in Extreme Pink has gone missing in action but I'm hoping it's just hiding in one of my purses, so I needed some sort of hot pink lip color on the cheap and so far I'm pretty impressed and it doesn't feel too heavy!

Wet 'n Wild Ultimate Touch Pressed Poweder - I tend to buy cheap pressed powder that I keep in my purse's makeup bag because I usually end up shattering it somehow (I ruined a very nice MAC Blot Powder that way).

Wet 'n Wild Wild Shine Nail Color - #11088 Vintage Red - I normally tend to shy away from dark colored polishes but since they're all the rage this season, I figured I'd try something affordable in the 97 cent range so if I hated it, I wouldn't be out a ton of cash. The color I picked is a limited edition but it's a dark reddish black with some purple tones. It's drying on my thumb right now and I had to use three coats to get an even, uniform color but I've noticed that with a lot of dark nail polishes. Wet 'n Wild also had this gorgeous silvery black shade in their Crystalic Nail Color but I that it might be a bit too goth for my tastes nowadays so we went with the dark and chic instead. While testing everything out and typing this out, the Vintage Red color also looks great with one coat of it and one coat of New York Color's Nail Glossies - #233 Plum Tart (which I picked up at Target a couple weeks ago) on top to form a dark pinky-purple metallic color! I've always been one of these crazy girls who ends up mixing nail polish colors together. So I've now got some options with the two colors I've bought for the fall season.

Since CVS had Sally Hansen lip and nail products at buy one, get one half off (if only I had known that at Wal-Mart but they had a better selection of pedicure goods there so it balances). I found a two-for-one package of their Lip Inflation glosses which had one regular clear gloss and one Sheer Blush color. I'm really liking the the Sheer Blush color and it feels good on your lips but not so tingly that you feel your mouth is on fire! I also picked up their Problem Cuticle Remover and Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil since I'm going to give myself much needed manicure and pedicure this afternoon. I also picked up a La Cross Laser Shaper Nail File since emery boards do no justice except in emergency situations!

Now I'm off to D.I.Y. pedicure and manicure and then get my Halloween on!

Longest post ever?

Hello to all my fashionable friends! It's seems like forever since I've posted on here but it seems I've gotten at least a handful of new readers according to some comments I've received lately. Waves hello to my new blogging friends and if anyone wants to be added to my list of reads, give me a "comment holla," ok?

I've managed to survive Halloween weekend (yes, at the age of 24 it's still somewhat cool to dress up and go to the gazillion Halloween parties around town). Friday night I dressed up as a Hollywood socialite or I joked that I was Nicole Richie 20 pounds heavier. My costume consisted of huge white sunglasses, a couple of tanks layered, a black cropped cardigan and a long scarf, skinny jeans, and my slouchy tan boots. I've noticed in Hollywood/L.A.-ville that many of the "It Girls" have a tendency to wear black shirts with brown boots. How odd. For Saturday, I went as 1980's chick a la Cyndi Lauper and wore a red and black leopard print mini-dress with black leggings, a black shirt with an interesting cut up shape I found at H&M, my black stretch belt, metallic blue button earrings, tons of bangles, gunmetal colored pumps, and I paired it with a studded gold lame' fabric bag that I had in my collection of purses. To top things off, I wore my hair in pigtails and I wore silver and blue eyeshadows with hot pink lips!

So while perusing the beauty aisles at Wal-Mart last week, I stumbled upon one of my favorite body sprays that I wore quite a few years ago - Parfums de Coeur Body Fantasies Fresh White Musk. It's a very clean musk but with a slight floral and one whiff of it reminded me why I loved it so much.

Much to my delight, it turns out I had won a contest compliments to Beauty Addict Mag and DuWop and I received my prize in mail this past week. For starters, I scored their Browwow kit in "lighter" which includes tinted brow powder and pomade as well as a shimmery cream eyeshadow to highlight the browbone. I used the stiff end of the brush to apply the powder and then the pomade and I use the softer end to sweep a bit of the highlighter right under my "arches" (I tend not to have an overly defined arch, my brows don't naturally grow that way). They also sent me their Lash Lacquer in "carbon black" (mascara with a smudge proof "topcoat") which I've yet to try but I'll certainly let y'all know when I do! I *try* to change mascaras when the season's change but I'm now faithful to my Maybelline Full 'n Soft after spending all summer mascara hunting but I did open it right around when fall started so when winter comes in December, I'll be ready for a new mascara. The third goodie I received was their Revolotion in "medium" which ended up being a bit too dark for my pale self but if I mix it with my regular lotion, I get a nice glow! It'll definitely be an essential product when it's skirt weather in the spring again!

Ladies, definitely check out Sunsilk's GetHairapy.com and it has all the fabulous-ness of gossip and shopping with your best gay boi-friend. I signed up to receive the sample trio of their Anti-Flat line and I definitely liked the Anti-Flat Weightless Volumizing Creme. If you're in the Richmond, VA area like me - I've noticed that CVS does have the the Sunsilk line on sale this week!

I know I've got plenty more I could update on but I'm exhausted but hopefully I can do some more writing and catching up on Tuesday or Wednesday. Take care my fashionistas and divas! <3

High Heels: A love-hate Relationship.

I will admit I've got a major "thing" for high heels. Except high heels usually have an average "four-hour time limit" for me. We've got a love-hate relationship... So now I'm looking into ways to make my current shoes more comfortable and possibly check out some comfort brands as well.

I've bought a pair of these insoles by Dr. Scholl's before and I think I'm going to stock up on a few more pairs. I'm going to try putting them in a few pairs of my pumps and also my ballet flats and see if that makes a difference. I like the fact that there's an adhesive on them to stick them in your shoes to keep them from sliding around and there's a lining covering the gel so your feet don't feel yucky or sweaty if you decide to go without hose.

I don't know what's worse lately, wearing heels or wearing flats! I love my Born clogs and my Danskos but they don't always go with everything fashion wise.

I did some browsing on the Easy Spirit site and I found a couple pairs of basic pumps that caught my eye but the Reiko's are my favorites out of them all so I'll have to see if I can find them at the Easy Spirit store. I also liked the Jacklynn's as well but I'm not sure if they have the same amount of padding as the other ones.

I know my Mom is a huge fan of LizFlex and I found these sassy platform pumps on their site! Maybe she and I will need to make a trip to DSW since she's had lucking their finding cute LizFlex styles.

I will admit that so many "comfort" shoes do tend to look like shoes for a much older generation but when I'm on my feet all day, comfort is key essential. I'm in my mid-twenties and I want to look sassy but I suppose I'm going to have to look around to find chic and comfortable shoes.

I've found it!

So I've finally found my "holy grail" mascara thanks to a reccomendation from a friend - I've fallen in love with Maybelline's Full 'n Soft Mascara. I've tried a lot of mascaras in my life time but this one seems to be the big winner. I had someone actually "notice" my lashes which normally get lost behind the glasses, so after receiving that compliment - I knew I've found "the one" for sure.

Have a fashionable week everyone!

Some of the best things in life are free.

So yours truly had entered a giveaway through Beauty Addict Mag's Freebies section on their website and has won a DuWop giveway pack! I'm all for legit freebies and if I can win, anyone can win!

I ended up buying these boots from Target and rocked them with my skinny jeans today - so cute!

I hope everyone's doing well and have a fabulous weekend!

Mascara woes.

So I hate how you buy a new mascara and it's the best thing ever for a couple weeks and suddenly it's not working like it's supposed to?' Ideally I want something that won't smudge but isn't waterproof (waterproof formulas and my lashes tend not to agree), thickens a lot but doesn't clump up, lengths a bit, and keeps the curl once I curl my lashes.

I was using WetnWild's Mega Length Double Action Mascara and while I love the primer end, the mascara itself isn't liking me anymore and will either deposit barely any mascara on my lashes or else clumping in random spots. I've tried Bon Bon's mascara which I found for a whopping 88cents at my local Wal-Mart but it tends to smudge on my lower lashes and then I've got raccoon-eyes going on which isn't pretty.

While I remember Lucky magazine giving Cover Girl's LashExact Mascara a great review a while back, I'm not impresssed. Too much definition, not enough volume or color. It's good for doing the lower lashes but that's about it. I have yet to try Max Factor's Lash Perfection Mascara which seems to have a similar styled brush.

I do like Clinique's High Impact Mascara quite a bit but I do find it tends to clump up on the tips of my lashes a bit but then using a lash comb tends to ruin the total effect. Go figure that the most expensive one works the best but I think it sometimes weighs my lashes down and the curl won't stay (however, I was using a sample size one that I got in the free gift during Clinique Bonus Time when I stocked up on my beloved City Block SPF25).

My mom is currently using Almay's One Coat Triple Effect Mascara and seems to be liking it so far. I might have to pick up a tube of that because it's supposed to thicken, lengthen, and curl as well as not smudge.

What's your favorite mascara and why?

Denim Dish/Potomac Mills Recap

Obviously I'm quite overdue for an update.... I've spent the majority of my days off doing homework (which is the goal for Thursday as well).

I've been on a denim spree the past few weeks and bought three new pairs but my total purchase costs were under $75 with tax!

I bought a pair of skinny/straight-leg jeans by Hydraulic on sale for under $20 at Nordstrom and I was surprised the inseam ran shorter than usual. Any jeans that I can buy without having to shorten and alter the hem sounds like a good deal to me- because you have two choices when you're 5'1":
(a) buy everything in the petite department
(b) cut it off and HEM IT!!!

While perusing through Potomac Mills last week, my friend and I checked out this store called Urban Planet. The clothing selection there definitely has a more urban/hip-hop feel but they had nice selection of extremely affordable trend-styled jeans (dark rinses, grey washes, skinny legs, straight legs, pocket details, etc.). My inner style diva guided me towards the clearance rack and I found a pair of skinny/drainpipe leg jeans for $10 in a black-blue wash with some distressing in spots and they were the perfect length as well!

The new Levi's store recently opened at Short Pump Town Center and I decided to check that out this past Monday. I tried on a bunch of their jeans and finally decided on the Levi's 504 Slouch Straight in the "Black Bird" color (dark rinse blue-black). The best part is my new Levi's are a size 1!!! The slouch fit seems to have a bit more room which allows you to go a size down if you want them more fitted. I also find straight leg jeans to be more classic and versatile (they look fab with heels or cute when cuffed with flats).

So there's the "denim dish" but let me finish my re-cap of Potomac Mills. I ended up with three cotton Couleur de Rose tunic tees (white, black, and a punchy green), a pewter screen print tee with a rock-and-roll-ish crown print by Eyeshadow, a black hoodie by Caslon, and black kitten-heel leather pumps by Preview (a brand exclusive to the Nordstrom Rack) all from the Rack. I stopped by the the Cosmetics Company Store/Outlet and bought this sparkly neutral eyeshadow by MAC called Tempting and a Pinkphonic Glitterliner as well! The Glitterliners are a discontinued item but a little goes a long way and they're great for adding a bit of sparkle when having a night out with the girls! Plus I got the awesome $10 jeans as mentioned above in the "denim dish"!

So I think I now need to give my wallet a break...

Oh, and if you haven't picked up the new MAC VivaGlam6 Lipglass - you MUST! It's a perfect pinky-plum color and all the proceeds go to the MAC Aids Fund. So a great color and a good cause - sounds like another winner for me!

Potomac Mills

I'm obviously too excited to sleep...

I'm headed to Potomac Mills in the morning! I haven't been in years but I've passed by it a gazillion times to visit family in NoVA. I'm most excited for the Nordstrom Rack but we'll probably check out Saks Off Fifth and anything else that suits our fancy. I know there's the Estee Lauder brand outlet there as well so I'll try to check that out (i.e. MAC goodness).

Umm, thank goodness I really don't have access to a credit card or I'd otherwise be in major debt. It's going to be tough to "restrain" myself from shopping hardcore but pay day also means "pay the bills day." So everything will be debit to keep me out of trouble. However, if you'd like to donate to my fashion cause - let me know and I'll give you my PayPal e-mail address so you can send me some money. *chuckles*

I'm the broke fashionista!

. . .

Can't wait to see the Abaete line at Payless!

Yes, I love shoes.

There's always hope.

Wow... The last few days have been rough yet filled with the most caring, loving, friendly emotions in attempts to offset the numbing, sad, upsetting emotions. I have found out my sister is terminally ill and all the health issues she's had in recent years are the result of this horrible thing that's attacking her body but her soul and her spirit is so strong that I admire her so much for what she's about to go through in the next months.

I'm trying to sort things out and mentally prepare myself to go back to work tomorrow (I "survived" class this evening so bonus points for that) but if you'd like to contact me, please e-mail me at rvafashionista [at] livejournal [dot] com and it will be immediately forwarded it to my main contact e-mail.

. . .

So in more upbeat news, I managed to score a sample of DuWop's Venom Gloss which is a colored gloss with the same effects as their regular Lip Venom. It's got about the same consistency of a Lancome Juicy Tube and there's a nice range of colors and it tastes pretty darn good. I didn't notice a huge difference in size but my lips are pretty full anyways but I don't look like a puffer fish so it's all good.

I've barely done any shopping lately... I picked up a couple cotton/modal Rubbish camis off the clearance rounder at work but that's about it.

Now it's time to write a paper and hopefully get some sleep... This hot weather and I are not in agreement!

The Value of $34.00

Oh, lovely... So I go check my back account balance and such online after Monday's losing my Visa debit card at Wawa incident and I see a charge for $34.00 for Wawa in addition to the debit purchase of $30.15 at Wawa that I spent that day on gas. When I had called Visa on Monday, I asked them if I needed to run through and verify my purchases for that day and they said no. So according to Visa, my last purchase was at Wawa but wouldn't it be kind of odd for me to have a debit purchase and then a credit purchase immediately afterwards when I reported the card as lost/stolen. I explained this evening to them that I try to use everything as debit unless it automatically runs through as credit and there's no option for me to enter a PIN (for example, both H&M and Starbucks only run transactions though as credit). So now they're going to send me some paperwork from their fraud team...

I know $34.00 isn't a ton of money to some people but that's a tank gas or 10 lattes or $34 I could use towards paying off my school tuition and books that's charged on my Visa credit card and not my Visa debit card.

I wish I wasn't so scatterbrained/forgetful sometimes but I suppose there are much worse things in life...

Tomorrow evening shall be consumed with writing a paper for school. Cheers to not "having a weekend" but I haven't felt like being social either.

ESFP & cleaning - yay!

So I just took this Jung Typology Test for my "Intro to Business" class and I scored as a ESFP (Extroverted-Sensing-Feeling-Perceving) which is pretty accurate. To read more about my result, click here and here. I found a link on possible careers for ESFP types when I searched Blingo (it's like Google with prizes - I haven't gotten lucky and won yet though).

. . .

In other news, I spent my entire day with Mom cleaning out my closet, drawers, clothes, and shoes - bye, bye clutter! Mom even organized my closet and everything's in sections. Even each of my drawers has a specific purpose! It feels so good that everything is nice and clean. I just need to tackle my jewelry next! I've finally made both of my desks into a mini-office of sorts: my left desk is my drawing/art desk and my right one is my computer and homework desk! Considering I have a bunch of acrylic paint left over from my art class this spring, I need to start painting again!

So I need to make this quick because I do need a few hours of sleep before I get up at 5:00am-ish... my parents and I are going fishing again and this time we're headed to the Ocean View Fishing Pier in Norfolk.

I was quite productive today. I had some "routine maintenance" blood work/tests done and since I was nearby Carytown, I decided to pop in and take a look around. I unfortunately noticed that I received some sub-par service in most of the shops and I suppose it was due to the fact I wasn't "dressed to the nines." Since I was running errands during the day, I ended up throwing on a pair of shorts, my ol' Alpha Phi Omega t-shirt from my VCU days, and my ever-so-comfy Hollister flip-flops. Honestly, if I was going to have a needle stuck in my arm multiple times due to small veins that "roll" - I was not going to wear high heels! I did stop by Clementine (I found a embroidered sweatshirt jacket on their rack which I happened to own so I was amused by that) and JetSet (the owner Amy is a total sweetheart) where I pretty much had "dress-lust" but my wallet was not in agreement. Ahh, the life of a poor college student.

I also got my car's oil changed, returned a school textbook, paid my car's registration to the DMV, got gas at Wawa and then lost my debit card there! So I've immediately canceled my card but I'm still miffed. To make matters worse when I drove back there in hopes to try to find the card, I had some scary K-Fed lookalike leaning out his car window and trying to get in my face while hitting on me simultaneously. So yeah... I'm in a very man-hating mode right now.

I think I've been a bit stressed because of inventory (which is thankfully over) and starting fall classes and health issues that I was literally ready to go "B*TCH - WHAT?!?" on somebody but I didn't. I've kept my cool or made an attempt too. Just keep pumping coffee through my veins and I'll be OK.

So really, the deal of this post is that you have to dress a certain way to get good service - chances are I'm not coming back into your shop again. I know I looked like a bummy twelve year old today but my glasses are Hugo Boss and I was wearing my diamond studs so I'm not a complete fashion noob. I've been in the retail world for over 5 years and I'm going to try my hardest to treat you well no matter what you're wearing!

Fall Fashion Trend Quiz

*yawn* I'm headed off to bed momentarily but I found this quiz:

This Fall, You Should Wear a White Shirt

Crisp and refined, you are able to wear a white shirt with style.
Pair your white shirt with a funky belt to give it a modern, less preppy feel.

I surprisingly don't own a white button down shirt - I have two blue ones from Old Navy but I don't own the white button down that's supposed to be hot this fall!

On a side note, Europa in Shockoe Slip is love. I spent my Thursday evening there hanging with Holly and drinking sangria and chillin' out to a good mix of house music in their lounge area. Good times - but being out late would obviously explain the tiredness.

Panamanian Jewelry

My little sister just returned from Panama and picked up this earring and bracelet set as a late birthday gift.

It is hand woven from coconut shell and it's very lightweight which is perfect for this hot summer weather!

In other news, I think I might have found a new mascara or else it's worth the $3.99 for the lash primer alone. I picked up WetnWild's MegaLength Mascara at CVS which was featured in the September issue of Lucky. It clumps a teeny bit but it's nothing that quick swipe with a lash comb won't fix. I'm always on the hunt for an affordable "holy grail" mascara and this might be the one (I do love my 88 cent BonBons one I picked up at Wal-Mart but I think I'll now keep it as a purse mascara for touch ups). WetnWild is buy-get-one-half-off at CVS this week so it's definitely worth checking out. I also picked up the MegaGlow Face Illuminator in Blushing (though it's more of a pale baby pink) - a little dab goes a long way, it is very creamy but I used a tiny dab under my eyes with concealer on top and I looked nice and bright eyed.

. . .

I did partake in enjoying the Watermelon Festival on Sunday and many of the stores and boutiques were having sidewalk sales but the only thing I bought was two bowls of watermelon and a couple peanut butter cookies! I said hello to Amy at JetSet who is sweet as can be but when I walked into Need, I waded through the crowd and then left... it was way too crowded in there and nobody said hello or even nodded their head as quick greeting so I left. Maybe I'm just not cool enough to shop in Need. Who knows. I guess I'm borderline hipster kid but not quite. I'm somewhere on the fence and I honestly don't like to be labeled. Even though the weather was quite nice, it was still very warm so I wore a couple layered tanks in soft grey and slate blue with these camo print bermudas (they're more like capris on me) that have embroidered touches in the pockets and my navy blue Hollister flip-flops.

I have a dentist appointment in the AM so I'd better head off to bed. Au revoir mes amis!

Overall it's pretty true but I'm still OBSESSED with makeup (and fashion and shoes and accessories). Yours truly is a girly-girly but I don't always do neutrals for my makeup. I do like strategic color placement and sometimes a bright pop of color is what a girl needs!

So this post has some relevance - I've decided to mention some of my favorite lipstick choices.

Clinique Colour Surge "Extreme Pink" (my favorite pink that's just bright enough but not "hooker hot pink")

MAC "Lady Bug" (the perfect red that can go sheer or vavoom with a couple swipes)

MAC "Sweetie" (a great everyday mauve-y pink)

I also love the Viva Glam V Lipglass by MAC and all the proceeds go to the MAC AIDS Fund.

So there's a few of my lip picks from your favorite makeup junkie who's having insomnia like whoa lately... Time to get some beauty rest!

While it's summer, it's not a vacation.

Forgive me for being a bit MIA as of late, I've been working a lot and I used both of my days off this past week to relax and spend time with my family. I spent Sunday afternoon at Maymont with Mom and got to see the new black bear Phoenix. He is so cute and had tons of personality! I went fishing on Tuesday with my parents and we were on a boat in the Newport News area so we were kind of on the James River but on the Chesapeake Bay at the same time. I only caught one fish - a small croaker so I ended up tossing it back. Surprisingly I got a very slight tan but I'll take what I can get since I normally burn like crazy.

I did receive my September Lucky magazine in the mail the other day and I definitely agree with Michelle that there's too much in it! I was also a bit miffed that they didn't offer more affordable priced shoes because I remember one of the summer issues had a ton of Target and Payless shoes featured. So far in this issue I found one pair from Payless and no Target.

I had to put my tuition and books on the credit card so it'll be no shopping for me for a while unlesss it's insanely cheap or I have an insanely good paycheck. I'm taking "Introduction to Business" and "Principles of Selling" this fall so I'm excited for that and my classes start up on the 22nd.

I'm lusting over all the new things at work - tons of cute plaid blazers and black wash denim. *sigh* I'm in love... I can't wait for the weather to cool off though. I can't wait to bust out the boots! I haven't bought any this season but my "collection" already includes black suede knee-high boots with a kitten heel and pointed toes that I scored on sale from Ann Taylor Loft a couple years ago, black western/cowgirl boots that I found in the kids department at Saxon's this past winter, and black square toe stretch knee high with a stacked heel that my mom bought for me quite a few years ago at Payless that have held up remarkably. I tend to buy somewhat classic style boots that will go with almost anything...

Sunday is the Carytown Watermelon Festival and despite being a native Richmond-er, I've never been before so I'm excited to go since I'm off work that day!

hot, hot, hot

EDIT: This post was originally supposed to go up last night but Blogger and I were having HTML issues so it's being posted instead this morning with all the proper HTML tags.

So after many recommendations on the MAC Cosmetics community I frequent on LiveJournal, I stopped by Sephora on my way home yesterday and finally picked up Urban Decay's Primer Potion. This stuff seriously works - my eyeshadow didn't crease a bit and it's 90+ degrees here! When I got home this evening, the color had faded a teensy bit but that's not bad for over 10 hours of wear in heat, humidity, and sweat.

I had the pleasure today of meeting Michelle who's the owner of Chic Armoire and the maintainer of the Chic Amoire blog as well. She's so sweet! It's a little freaky that our haircuts are pretty much identical, we have similar coloring (both skin, eyes, and hair), and we're on the petite side! Crazy isn't it? It was so nice to "talk fashion" with someone as well!

I know fall is just around the corner but with this heat, I don't want to think about sweaters and such! I've been doing a major wardrobe cleanout as of late so I said goodbye to a bunch of sweaters - I love how a black sweater looks but I dislike how the cotton blend ones tend to fade after a while. I unfortunately cannot wear sweaters with any sort of wool or angora - it makes me itch like crazy. I do have a green cotton and nylon wrap-sweater from Old Navy a couple years ago and that has a bit of angora but that one doesn't bug me too much. I do like H&M's sweaters as well and I like the sweaters we carry at work as long as they don't have wool in them! I received this one as gratis in dark grey and they gave me a size smaller but I think it fits better that way.

I've discovered that Joe's Jeans makes a petite fit jean with an average inseam of 30" called the "Provacateur"- if I want to make a splurge, I might get them but I'm sure my mother would kill me breaking the bank and buying designer jeans. That's half a car payment! I'd have to order them online but it'd be wonderful if we received them in store so I could try them on. I am a bit picky about jeans but I'm thankful to have found some well-fitting pairs that fit my budget.

I will say that if my mother decides to complain about me buying new sweaters and stuff, I'll mention that I cleaned out all the old ones and it was her words for me to invest in "classic pieces." So there...

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, it's the big tax-free weekend in VA so I'm sure the mall will be crazy. However, crazy can be fun so it's all good!

digital chic

Despite the fact of having the weekend off work, I've been quite busy with my family (Grandma's in town from NoVA) since we chose to celebrate my birthday last night. So yes, I officially turned 24 this past Tuesday, July 25th.

I've received some fabulous jewelry for my birthday - including a vintage beaded choker from Holly that she found at Bygones in Carytown and a lovely bracelet and sterling silver "forget-me-not" cut-out silver necklace that Grandma found in Alaska. I'm quite upset though that I wore the silver necklace to church today and the charm must have fallen off there and I lost it already... Hopefully someone found it on the carpet and the turned it into the lost and found. *fingers crossed*

Yes, I know the above picture isn't very good that I took last night but I bought a new camera today and I'm quite pleased! It's a Pentax Optio E10 and it's on sale for about $150 at Circuit City this week and it also includes a $15 gift card so I ended up purchasing a camera case and some batteries with my "free money."

So I'm quite sure lots of photography will come in the future... I'm now off to ready the manual and play around some more.

white wine & clothing - 2 of my fave things

First of all, for those in the RVA area - I stumbled upon this wonderful brand of Australian wine at Kroger called Banrock Station. Last night I picked up a bottle of their Rieseling for Holly's summer soiree and then I decided to try a bottle of their Semillion Chardonnay to pair with dinner with my parents. The best part is is that it's on sale at Kroger for just under $4.00 a bottle but the quality is pretty darn good for "inexpensive wine" and it normally retails for around $8.00 at Kroger. They are also concerned with the enrivonment and wildlife preservation so I'm definitely for that!

Second, Ross has opened it's doors at Willow Lawn and I was quite pleased at the selection! I've heard from a few that the selection is very "hit or miss" but I managed to have success today and find five cute knit shirts for about $40 (I had some birthday money from Granny so I spent $15 out of pocket) and the total value according to the "compare at" on the tags ended up being about $100. The first shirt (grey with lace on the bottom) I did receive gratis at work but the rest I found at Ross today. I think I might wear the white shirt with the polka dots on Tuesday to see Train and Mat Kearney at Innsbrook for my birthday but I'm still debating because it'll depend on how hot outside it is that day. Can you tell I like stripes as of late? The third shirt down is actually a lightweight sweater knit but it was surprisingly comfortable while skimming and fitting in the right places.

So now I'm finishing up my marketing homework which is about internet ads... Except I really don't "pay attention" that much to internet ads and such. My pop-ups are blocked on Safari thank you very much!

I think my fashion style is changing a bit... Some may call it hipster-ish but I'm just buying what I fall in love with!

If you didn't know that...

In addition to having a passion for clothes and shoes - I'm a makeup fiend! I love MAC (as well as some Clinique and Smashbox) and they've re-released one of my favorite products! Their Mineralized Skinfinishes are one of the best products ever for creating a glow (they tend to release bronze-y and pinkish blush colored shades) and MAC's put out three shades with their A Muse collection. "Shimpagne" and "Porcelain Pink" have been released before with previous collections and "Shooting Star" is a new shade. I picked up Shimpagne today from my MAC counter which is a shimmery champagne/light bronze color which should be perfect to give me a glowy "tan" appearance considering I'm pretty darn pale.

I also picked up lipstick in Ladybug (which is a nice sheer red... I had one in my collection but it ran away from my purse) and their eyeslash curler.

. . .

It's now time for some ice cream and some sleep... I'm a bit exhausted.

short but not so sweet

Forgive me for not posting... I've go so much going on right now that I'm having a difficult time keeping my "head above water." I'm also going through some personal ups and downs of sorts which I'm trying to mentally sort through as well. My brain feels like one big mess as of late.

. . .

If you wish to personally contact me, please e-mail me at rvafashionista@livejournal.com and it will be forwarded to my official Gmail account.

Depression is like a disease without a cure - you may get better but there's always a small part in the back of your brain waiting to resurface and eat away at you again.

trying to stay upbeat!

I must say that this rainy weather is wearing me down this week... Yes, it was sunny for a bit yesterday but the wind was blowing like mad and I managed to get some sort of dust/dirt/grit in my eye and ended up leaving work early to go to the doctor to have it checked out. Not a pleasant experience at all. Thankfully I'm off today so I'm bumming around the house sans makeup and periodically icing my eye to reduce the swelling (it resembles the puffiness from a major crying session).

I did meet with my personal seamstress/tailor this morning (i.e. my mother) so I could have my jeans hemmed and I should be wearing them tomorrow! Debating if I want to wear them cuffed as capris or long with heels or wedges... I sometimes feel I need to get back into sewing or something artistic like painting (I took a colour theory class this past spring that morphed into a graphic arts course instead so my "required" acrylic paints didn't get as much love).

Well, I think I'm off to go run some errands after being house-bound all morning... Then I'll be hitting the books for my marketing exam tomorrow morning and then I'll be working in the afternoon - the next few weeks are going to be insanely busy for me. Such is life!

shoes, tees, jeans, & jewelry... oh my!

In case you haven't noticed by now, this is part shopping blog and part "update on Lindsay's life" blog (though I do tend to do the more "personal" blogging on LJ - writing is definitely a form of therapy for me other than shopping). Due to having a little extra money, I managed to do some shopping in the past few days and I purchase some things I wanted and needed (ripped a pair of jeans and needed to replace them)

This Mossimo Twisted Tissue Tee is only $8.99 at Target and the twisted fabric around neckline has a James Perse-esque touch. I bought it for the color because it's the most gorgeous blue-green but the fit is really nice too - long and stretchy!

I picked up these cute and insanely lightweight wedge sandals in black leather by Diba at Nordstrom retailing for $44.95. The strap is rubbing the backs of my ankles a teensy bit (I'm still breaking them in) but overall they're extremely comfy and feel light as air for summer!
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I also purchased a couple more of my favorite classic camisole which is the the BP. Stretch Cami in white and black (two rather indespensible "colors" - though from taking a color theory class, white and black technically aren't colors). Since "skinny" and straight leg jeans seem to be a popular trend especially for the upcoming fall season, I ended up buying a pair that we received in BP. this spring before the trend really hit and they're now on clearance for $22.90! They're by Hippie Jeans and I was unable to locate a picture (and too lazy at the moment to take one) but the wash is extremely dark and the rise is not super low - they're also extremely long and extremely stretchy so I manged to squeeze into a size smaller since I know this brand eases out more than most. Yes, I'll have to get them hemmed due to my 5'1" stature but the jeans were originally around $60.00 so they're an insanely good deal. I felt if they straight leg trend suddenly disappeared, I could roll them up and iron/starch them and voila - cute cropped cuffed jeans! So I'll most likely wear them rolled up until the weather cools off a bit.

My true shopping addiction though is accessories and I ended up buying oversized faux-pearl stud earrings for $6.00 (that my mother thought were real!) as well as this awesome thick chain necklace for $22.00 with coordinating faux pearls, clear crystal, and rose-quartz-esque beads that I had been eyeing for quite some time. It's definitely girly meets rock and roll and both pieces are by Rachel in the BP. department at Nordstrom (unforunately not featured online... must take pictures).

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday... I'll be working in the afternoon but I honestly don't mind (the words "holiday pay" are a good enough reason for me). And a quick reminder that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is coming up - July 14th through July 30th! It's an excellent time to do some back to school shopping or to jump start your fall wardrobe with both fabulous prices and fabulous clothing! I'm beyond excited and this year's stuff definitely rocks!

Summer is not lovin' my skin!

I have not a clue what I've done to upset my skin other than the warm weather, humidity, and a bit of stress might be making it act up but I've got three rather swollen blemishes "growing on my face" (as in they haven't quite surfaced into a head but they're incredibly painful and sensitive including one on my browbone). Yikes.

I normally don't break out except the occassional small blemish that disappears in a couple days max with Johnson & Johnson's Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment. Not meaning to come off as all bragging and such but my skin is so much better than it used to be in my teenage years and I swear by my Oatmeal Milk & Honey Soap and my Nourishing Facial Scrub & Mask from Lavender Fields Farm. I might end up picking up their Nourishing Facial Tonic the next time I go out there since my skin is being "acne-prone" at the moment. But normally my routine of their soap, the scrub 1-2 times a week, and dab of Cetaphil lotion as my moisturizer and MAC's Fast Response Eye Cream usually gives me no troubles at all.

I know since it's summer and all you should be wearing sunscreen (though I wear the stuff year-round) and I just wanted to share that I swear by Clinique's Super City Block SPF 25. Best stuff ever because it doesn't "feel" like sunscreen!

. . .

Otherwise, life is good but filled with work and school. I will say that earning "All Star" status at work has been a definite perk and an absolute honor!

a momentary break from homework to say...

Mango-lime cheesecake is love.

my declaration of independence

I don't want to sound arrogant or cocky in any sort of way but I've had at least a handful of guys hitting on me or "chasing after me" in one instance or another lately. To be honest, it's kind of annoying and I don't want any of it. Just let me be, please? I need to wear that a sign that says BACK OFF (kind of like those Yosemite Sam mudflaps for trucks). Yes, I have a friendly "approachable" personality but that doesn't necessarily mean I want to be approached. Both my Facebook and MySpace accounts say I'm "looking for friendship." I'm not sure if I even want that because I have a hard enough time keeping up with my friends sometimes. I really just want to focus on my education, my career, my awesome friends, and my wonderful family. So don't pressure me on "settling down" (it's not like I party a ton anyways) or on dating someone. Yes, there's someone I'm crushing on somewhat and I don't get to see him a lot but when I see him or hear from him - it totally makes me smile. So there.

Ah yeah that's right
All you single people out there
This is for you

I'm not waitin' around for a man to save me
(Cos I'm happy where I am)
Don't depend on a guy to validate me
(No no)
I don't need to be anyone's baby
(Is that so hard to understand?)
No I don't need another half to make me whole

Make your move if you want doesn't mean I will or won't
I'm free to make my mind up you either got it or you don't

This is my current single status
My declaration of independence
There's no way I'm tradin' places
Right now a star's in the ascendant

I'm single
(Right now)
That's how I wanna be
I'm single
(Right now)
That's how I wanna be

Ah yeah Uh Huh that's right

Don't need to be on somebody's arm to look good
(I like who I am)
I'm not saying I don't wanna fall in love 'cos I would
I'm not gonna get hooked up just 'cos you say I should
(Can't romance on demand)
I'm gonna wait so I'm sorry if you misunderstood

Everything in it's right time everything in it's right place
I know I'll settle down one day
But 'til then I like it this way it's my way
Eh I like it this way

Make your move if you want doesn't mean I will or won't
I'm free to make my mind up you either got it or you don't
'Til then I'm single

This is my current single status

There's no way I'm tradin' places

Also, to be perfectly honest - relationships scare the hell out of me. The whole male species pretty much terrifies me. I tend to become anxious and nervous when approached and when I'm being hit on, I usually want to run far, far, away. I'm very flighty and finicky. I've only felt truly comfortable with only a few guys in my life and even then things didn't really work out because of my own issues and self-doubts. But for now, whatever happens will happen. Don't push me. I'll decide if I want to chase you back and chances are I probably won't.

And this has been my philosophy of sorts as of lately: Let go and let God. It just makes sense to me.

Sunny Sundays...

Today's been an absolutely gorgeous day. It's been so nice to be off work and relax. I went to a picnic with some friends from church and it was wonderful to catch up with everyone. Of course it's now time to crack the whip and do some marketing homework... I'm due back at work at 11:00am though. *yawn*

I did take some pix this afternoon, my dad's bathroom has some pretty decent lighting (I need to play with my camera settings but I took these in about 10 minutes) and the last three are by the window in my living room. So you can view the gallery at my LJ Scrapbook.

The boy's suddenly gone MIA. :-( Must call him to see what's going on... I hope he just had a busy weekend at work and nothing serious is up. *fingers crossed* I've met someone actually worth caring about and I don't wanna mess it up.

As many of you may know, I'm quite the bargain shopper...

I picked up these flip-flops but in a nice muted gunmetal color and a cute little blue and silver striped tank at Target yesterday. This week at Nordstrom I picked up these totally adorable camo bermuda shorts with some embrodiered accents (which are capris on me since I'm only 5'1"), a black lace trimmed racer-back tank, a black v-neck cap sleeve sweater, and some cute black/gold/grey earrings - ALL OFF THE SALE RACKS!!! Score. I figured I'd get my shopping fix in now because I'll be saving up for my fall tuition.

Thankfully I'm off today after a 9-day stretch of work... *yawn* I slept in this morning and I've done some laundry. Now I'm overdue for a shower and some principles of marketing homework. I'm off again on Sunday but I've got a picnic to go to so I'm super excited about that!

Where it's at...

(private/friends only)

(semi-public blog)

. . .

One of my dear friends has created an account here and in order for me to comment on her entries, I myself needed an account on Blogger/BlogSpot as well. So that's why I'm here...

I may occassionally post an entry or two but the two above blogs are my first loves of sorts.

. . .

In other news, Principles Of Marketing is a pain in my rear but I've got a "B" so far and my first exam is Tuesday! Life is pretty good right now though with the occasional ups and downs. But hey, that's life... right?
